Upcoming Sermon Nov.22, 2020

Hi Everyone:

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, so I decided to write a special Thanksgiving message.

In this special message you will learn a lot about a group of adventuresome citizens that set out from South Hampton, England in a boat called “Speedwell”.  Does that sound familiar to you? Of course it doesn’t but it’s true!! I bet you thought I was going to say the “Mayflower”!!!  I bet you thought those adventuresome citizens come over on the “Mayflower”.   Well there’s more to the story, lots more.  Join us this Sunday for an exciting Thanksgiving message.

The scripture used this week to compose the message is taken from Luke 17:11-19.  It’s the story of the 10 men who were healed from leprosy.  Have you read that one?  Ten very sick men were standing along the road, they saw Jesus coming, they heard about him and what he could do, so they called out to him, saying, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us” and Jesus healed them, all ten of them, but only one came back to thank him.  Our savior looked at the one who came back and said, “weren’t there ten who were healed, where are the others”?  No one else came to thank him...... can you imagine how our Lord felt?

Let us always be thankful.

May you have a blessed rest of your week, we are looking forward to seeing you on Sunday,

Pastor Susan

AA and AL Anon meetings

Al Anon meets each Wed. evening at 7:00 PM in a very private room with a private entrance.  Everyone is welcome and they have people coming from as far away as State College and Renovo.  The meetings usually last one hour and they meet weekly.

Our AA meetings are each week on Wed. at 7:00 PM also, in another private room.  We are the longest running AA group in Clinton County.  Leonard Scott, the famous artist/sculpturer, started our meetings at the church several years ago. And again, the people are from all walks of life and all areas.  Everyone is welcome.  There is no charge for either of the meetings.
